To change the Mode, pull up the robots menu (Left) and select the top option (Set Bot Mode), then select the mode you desire. Once you do, a docking station will appear. These are different colors for the different modes. If your robot gets stuck, you can call it back to the portal.

Automate putting Resources away
One nice thing you can do with the robot is to Automate resources being put away.
Once you have everything set up, the bot sorts and puts away resources as you collect them
Automate Your Greenhouse
Once set up properly, The robot can empty your crop plots of produce, placing the berries/veggies in fridges. They will also keep the fertilizer full.
Automate Metal Production
The robot makes metal production simple. Once set up, your robot will move the raw metal onto your forge, then when it has cooked, it will put the ingots into your dedi box.

The SIR-5rM8 Robot has a Follow Mode
Follow mode is easy to explain. The SIR-5rM8 Robot will follow you around. They are like an extra holding area so you can carry more stuff. I find this to be a useless mode for the most part.
I have not found a lot of use in the follow mode. The bot does not carry that much, and it easily gets stuck.
Often Robots in other modes will get stuck or just spazz out . I use follow to reset them. Set to follow mode, then move it to by where you want it to work, and put it back into the working mode it was in.
The SIR-5rM8 Robot has a Repair Mode
The repair mode is very helpful in several situations. Basically, the robot goes around and repairs items. This only works if you have set up dedi boxes with Automatic Withdrawal activated.
The robot will go around and find items that need repair, and collect the needed resources and then repair the item. Next ig goes out to find another item thet needs repair
This really helps in PVP, but in PVE, I use it to keep structurs fully repaired all the time.
If you notice something not repairing, look at the needed resources, and make sure all needed resources are available to the robot.
